Class IV's on the Tietan

Check the final picture of the day--I forget the name of that resevoir--but every September, they open the dam to drop the water level before entering the rainy winter season. Over the course of several hours, the Tietan is transformed from a mere creek to a blasting, constant class IV river with the occasional class V section. It stays that way for a couple of weeks, right smack dab during the nicest part of the Washington summer. The coolest thing about river rafting is that it is probably the only time when you can wet yourself and be happy about it. Oh, what?! Yeah, like you've never pee'd when you were swimming . . . :) ---J
